I wish to draw and paint colours....

“Mera favourite hero Salman khan hai !”, squeaked the five year old Sayed Farhan Hussein. Sayed suffered from a vulnerable heart disease and had just undergone a critical cardiac surgery. Although initially diminutive, Sayed enthusiastically interacted with our volunteers and told us chirpily that he enjoyed riding his cycle and drawing. He loved to do craft work taught in his school and adored the television show on art and craft called ‘MAD’. He was elated when we asked him whether he wanted a drawing and craft kit of his very own.The very same Sayed who was earlier upset that he was bed ridden and could not play, was bubbling with joy when we presented him a whole ‘MAD’ craft set and a dozen of drawing books. Sayed immediately started showcasing his artistic talent and convinced us that he was a Picasso in making! His parents were delighted to see him so cheerful ever since he was hospitalized at Narayana Hridalaya, Bangalore. Sayed, who initially feared the very sight of a syringe, emphatically told us that he would grow up to become a doctor and vaccinate his enemies. We all had a hearty laugh and peevishly wondered if we could fulfill that wish also.
