I wish to see my STAR ...Darshan
Bhavya S is an 11 years old vigorous girl suffering from Severe Immuno Suppression and referred from Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health to Make-A-Wish Foundation of India – Bangalore Division on 29th June 2009. She lives with her granny, two sisters and with her mother in Tumkur. So, our volunteer interacts with her about her interests, hobbies, schooldays, leisure time activities and friends. She was fond of reading comics and fairy tales. In future, she would wish to become a physician and wish to save many of the kids’ lives as like her. She kept always herself busy either with reading books or with watching movies of Challenging star Darshan. While interacting with her our volunteer come to know about her innermost wish to meet her cine idol Darshan.
So, our volunteers’ coordinated with the concerned team member of actor Darshan and they were endowing a juncture to meet him on 9th July 2009 at 1 P.M. Our volunteer’s obtained permission from the Medical Superintendent of the hospital to meet the actor as the kid is in inpatient ward and took her to meet the actor along with her two sisters and granny. When she arrived at Kanteerava Stadium, Darshan was busy with his shooting of the movie “Abbiah”, just opposite to the shooting spot they have organized dinner. So, all the kids and volunteers had feast even as watching his shooting. Once the movies shot got completed, actor Darshan straightaway get nearer to see our wish kid and she greeted him with flower bouquet. The moment she saw him, there is no boundary for her ecstasy and gladness. She interacted with him about his movies and she sings her favorite song of Darshan movie. In addition she took his autograph and phone number for keep regular contact with him. Actor Darshan was generous to bless her with good health and guided her to intake of medication regularly. It will be an immemorial moment in her lifetime as she told to our volunteer while they were back to the hospital.
I Wish to have a telescope...so that I can see STARS...
Ganesh Chakragiri is a 14-Year-old admiring boy suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia referred by Gokula Curie Cancer Centre of M.S. Ramaiah Medical College Hospital. He was passionate to amuse himself for cricket and playing computer games and browsing in net concerning astronomy. In addition to this he having the habits of reading comic books and completely engross himself to novels and short stories written by Mr. Sherlock Homes
He adored himself for Swimming and Cycling. But now on behalf of his illness, he reduced both swimming as well as cycling. Trekking, rock climbing, bird watching and participating in nature camps with his friends are his favorite pastimes. He will rejoice through watching National Geographic channel and Discovery channel as he was doting of astronomy and more inquisitive towards to know more innovative new places. He told about his three innermost wishes to our volunteers: as first and foremost wish is to have a personal telescope, indeed his second wish is to have astrophysics books and third wish is to see historical heritage Hampi.
While our volunteers met him on 2nd July 2009 at Gokula Curie Cancer Centre, he was undergoing for chemotherapy, as soon as he come back from his treatment they fulfilled his wish through gifting him a telescope, though he had a lots of pain within himself, his face was glittered when he received the telescope and there is no bound for his cheerfulness.
