Wish to be a cook

Ranjitha is a 16 years old cute and very shy girl from Doddabellapur, Karnataka, who lives with a life threatening illness. When our volunteers met her and started interacting with her they thought that she may not open up and that she is too shy. But eventually they found that hers was a very unique wish.

Our volunteers asked her about herself and her interests and then she slowly became friendly and started sharing that she likes to play badminton and kabaddi, she is good at making rangoli, likes to read sometimes and so on. But apart from all that, what she really enjoys doing is nothing but cooking! She expressed that she would love to be a cook, for which she often experiments various dishes from magazines and cookery programs on TV.

On 3rd August 2010, our volunteers had a surprise for Rajitha. She first saw the cookery books with her favorite vegetarian dishes and was so happy that she started going through it. Suddenly our volunteers gave her a pan and a spatula and then an apron and the cook’s cap! She just could not stop smiling. She wore the apron and the cap and insisted our volunteers on clicking more and more photos in her cook’s look.
