WORLD WISH DAY-2013


At Bangalore division World wish day was celebrated in the whole last week of April with a few fun-filled events and other activities.

The first event of was in collaboration with iVolunteer where volunteers from iVolunteer participated in wish identification of around six children at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Nephrology and Thalassemia ward on one day and fulfilled them all on another day with lots of games and activities for the children.


The second event was organised with Sameeksha Foundation, at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, which gives educational & other support to children there. As part of their Birthday celebration at Kapoor Paediatric Oncology Ward, a wish child Master Dilip performed magic show in front of all the paediatric oncology patients, their family members and Sameeksha foundation staff.




The next event was at Shri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology where volunteers fulfilled wishes of 7 children. In this event several games and recreational activities were organised and all the children took part and enjoyed themselves. 



Another event of world wish day celebration was organized with Support.com Company and was at held at their office. Around 40 employees participated in the event with wish children, parents, siblings, volunteers and coordinators. Two of the wishes sponsored by Support.com were fulfilled in this event.





BANGALORE DIVISION FULFILLS 1500TH WISH AT MYSORE


Make A Wish Foundation of India, Bangalore division, fulfilled the 1500th wish, which was to see the Mysore Zoo, on 31st March 2013. 




The 8 years old boy Sumath was on treatment for a life threatening Kidney and Heart Disease, when the volunteers of the foundation visited him first. Being jovial by nature Sumanth got along with the volunteers very well. He told the about his keen interest in animals and birds. At home, he said that he spent most of his free time in watching discovery channel or animal planet.

Sumanth was taken along with his family to the Mysore zoo and a volunteer accompanied them to make his wish come true. Though tired and exhosted he thoroughly enjoyed watching the variety of animals and birds in the zoo and happily posed in front all the animals for photographs.
